Welcome to the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the United States, Inc. (KOCHAM).

Founded in June 1992, KOCHAM is a national non-profit organization which represents over 300 U.S.-
based Korean businesses located throughout the United States. Our member companies include major
Korean corporations, financial institutions, and various non-profit organizations, as well as accountants,
attorneys, and other service professionals with connections to Korea.

As the most prominent representative of U.S.-based Korean subsidiary firms, KOCHAM fulfills a multi-
faceted aim. In addition to supporting locally-based Korean executives to provide the members with
practical information and to promote friendly relations among the members, KOCHAM is active in the
development of "corporate diplomacy" initiatives to build economic cooperation and to advance closer
relations between the people and the business communities of Korea and the United States.

In order to fulfill these aims, KOCHAM promotes and hosts several different kinds of events, including
monthly seminars, luncheon talks, and business-oriented workshops headed by distinguished outside
speakers. KOCHAM also keeps its members updated on the current economic climate by sending daily
news emails. Also, in order to help its members cope with and resolve the inevitable problems of
doing business in the United States, KOCHAM annually sends delegates to Washington D.C. to meet
with Congressional leaders and represent the companies. Additionally, KOCHAM hosts several annual
events, such as the Golf Tournament and the Dinner Party, to encourage and facilitate socializing and
connecting between its members, governmental agencies, and media representatives. KOCHAM also
provides resources for Korean-American students through several means, namely the Weekend Korean
School, designed to prepare Korean-American children should they visit or return to Korea, and the
annual Internship Program for college students and graduates, designed to provide them with the
opportunity to intern for major U.S.-based Korean companies and gain valuable work experience.

KOCHAM maintains ongoing relationships with a wide range of businesses interested in connecting
with Korea. This includes the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), Korea Economic Institute of
America (KEI), Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Korea Society, U.S.-Korea Business
Council, and the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM). In addition, KOCHAM maintains
close interaction with local, state, national, and international business and economic development
agencies, private corporations, academics, think tanks, non-profit and cultural organizations, and the
media.

KOCHAM welcomes relationships with corporations, partnerships, associations, and individuals who are
interested in promoting business and trade links between Korea and the United States. Why not join us
and experience the great potential we can offer toward the success of your business?
